Our Complete Barista Course consists of an intensive 5-hours of face-to-face training and assessment combined with pre-learning material.

You will learn the essentials of making exceptional coffee while understanding the importance of practising food hygiene and safe food preparation techniques essential to ensuring your customers’ health and safety.

We provide our students with the use of up-to-date and widely used industry-standard espresso machines to practice and work with, enabling them to prepare and serve coffee on any current espresso machine in service.

The barista course covers all the details of how to make great coffee and how to present the perfect cup every time.

Pre-requisites
This course includes the pre-requisite unit SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety.
Course Delivery
This course is delivered with a blended learning approach, with the practical component taking place face to face at the College, and the theory learning component & assessment both Formative and Summative being online. 
Practical demonstrations are covered on the day of face-to-face training.
Assessment
Assessment will confirm knowledge and skills have been achieved to demonstrate competency across the unit. Assessment will be in accordance with the Principles of Assessment and the Rules of Evidence.
A range of assessments may be used including written theory questions, case scenarios and practical skills demonstration.
Award
Upon successful completion of Barista course, students will be issued a Statement of Attainment (SOA) in SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety (Pre-requisite unit for SITHFAB025) and SITHFAB025 Prepare and serve espresso coffee within one week of completing the course.
